1970s Madelyn Modes Orange Metallic Paisley Angel Sleeve Maxi Dress
Description
This striking, a-line maxi gown was designed by Madelyn Modes for Fredericks Freeport during the late 1960s to early 1970s. The fabric is mesmerising; a stiffened tangerine manmade chiffon printed with a blown-up paisley design in burnt orange, pale green and navy. It is detailed all-over with gold lurex metallic polka-dots that glisten as they catch the light. The dress has long, sheer sleeves cut to a dramatic angel silhouette which cascade down to the top of the thigh. The neckline is rounded and the maxi-length skirt falls in soft pleats from an empire-line bust. The dress is lined with an orange satin for a comfortable wear. It fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp.
This dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. There are no composition or size labels present so please check our measurements below. The fabric has no stretch and we estimate a good fit for up to a UK 10 or US 6.
