1980s Isabel Canovas Gold Triple Drop Engraved Earrings
Description
These bold, statement 1980s earrings were designed by Parisian jewellery designer Isabel Canovas. Canovas designed for Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior in the 1970s, before opening her own eponymous boutiques with three locations Paris, New York and Madrid in 1982. Her pieces were elaborate and of couture quality, with high prices to match. The business shuttered in 1992 and her work is much sought after and collected today.
The earrings are crafted in a triple drop style and detailed with swirling, embossed patterns filled in with black enamel. Each of the three parts is shaped differently, with varying ornate edges and detailed with different stones and enamel. The top section features four teardrop-shaped enamel forms. The middle section, a large circular amber stone. The bottom section, four honey-hued circular stones. The rear of the earrings feature a classic clip clasp. They are stamped on the back.
These glamorous earrings have seen little use in their lifetime and are in excellent vintage condition with no issues.
