Description

This stylish and elegant late 1980s to early 1990s navy silk evening dress was designed by British couture designer Victor Edelstein. Edelstein founded his own British couture fashion house in the late 1970s after designing for Christian Dior. Princess Diana was one of his most famous clients. The dress which falls below the knee on most wearers has full length tapered sleeves with covered buttons to fasten at the cuff.  The dress has a centre front zip fastening which is cleverly hidden by the wrap around/overlap skirt and pleated section of the bodice. The construction of this piece is truly stunning as the dress is made to haute couture standards with a good deal of hand finishing and couture silk fabrics used.  There is boning in the bodice.  In excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. Would best suit sizes up to a US size 4-6, UK size 8-10.
