1990s Escada Navy Embroidered Fruit Salad Top
Description
This is a really fun 1990s piece by Escada when they were very high profile and considered a luxury brand. The novelty 'fruit salad' design is of embroidered motifs that represent strawberries and pineapples in a pink, yellow, purple, and russet orange colour combination. The composition is formed by machine stitching and little gold balls have also been appliqued to represent the pineapple cone husks stylistically. The strawberry motifs have an embroidered 3-D applique to represent the green foliage. The navy knit itself is a really nice quality, medium weight cotton with short sleeves and a wide rib band that sits just below the waistline.
Labelled a European 40. This equates to a UK size 12 or US size 8 but it's quite a generous oversized piece and would fit several sizes bigger or smaller depending on the wearer’s preference. It's in really great vintage condition and has seen little wear; the motifs are really bright and fresh looking.
