1990s Thierry Mugler Indigo and Black Velvet Dress
Description
This incredible late-1990s Mugler dress creates the most flattering and feminine silhouette for the wearer. Made from thick black velvet with indigo blue, almost purple fabric panelling, its tailoring creates a beautiful hourglass illusion and recalls a couture suit that walked the runway as part of the Spring 1998 Couture collection. The front features a rounded neckline and seam detail around the bust, while the back fastens with a central zip and hook and eye closure. The back also features a black velvet bow detail, complete with four poppers which join together to conceal the zip placket beneath. The skirt is finished in a classic pencil shape, making this the perfect dress for a smart cocktail party, or as a piece of sophisticated workwear. It is in fabulous vintage condition with no stains or faults to note, and would best fit a 6 UK, or 2 US. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm) and this dress fit her well.
