1992 Hermès Black “Geographe” by Sandra Laroche Silk Jacquard Scarf
Description
Hermès scarves, first introduced in 1937, have become iconic symbols of French luxury and craftsmanship, celebrated for their exquisite silk, hand-rolled edges, and artful prints that reflect both heritage and timeless elegance. All Hermès scarves are made in France and have hand-rolled edges.
This rare original issue "Le Geographe" vintage Hermès silk jacquard scarf was designed by Sandra Laroche, an Australian artist. The scarf was only issued in 1992 and pays tribute to the 19th-century French exploration of Australia. On rare occasions, Hermès would print a special design on jacquard, a raised woven, not printed, pattern which adds a luxurious feel. In this case, the jacquard pattern reveals anchors and kangaroos. This scarf in a black colourway is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. With a Hermes scarf box.
