Description

This full-length evening dress was designed by Stella McCartney for Chloé and appeared on the runway in black as part of the brand’s Spring 1999 collection (look 56/77). McCartney served as Creative Director of Chloé from 1997 to 2001, where she revitalised the brand with her signature blend of feminine tailoring and youthful, romantic design.

This graceful gown is tailored from a beautiful baby pink silk-jacquard patterned with vines and flowers that appear to climb up the body. It has an elegant hourglass cut with wide shoulder straps that give way to a V-neckline at the front and a sensuous low-V at the back. The front has the appearance of a top and skirt, but is in fact one piece. To the side of the waist are two ties which cinch the dress at the rear. The dress fastens with a hidden tonal pink zip and hook-and-eye clasp at the back. It is lined throughout with a matte peach-pink silk. Chloé remains the cool girl's go-to label for bohemian luxury and this is the perfect special event dress.

In fantastic vintage condition with no faults of any note and no evidence of alterations. The fabric component is 53% Silk, 47% Polyester and it is labelled a vintage French size 40. Size wise, this runs much smaller, especially around the waist and hips. Please check our measurements below as the dress has no stretch and is better suited to a size UK 8-10, US 4-6 with a fuller bust. This however, is easy to alter on the straps.
