2000s Donna Karan Silk Blend Dress Coat with Ruching Effect

Donna Karan’s namesake brand showed its first collection of womenswear in 1985. This coat is from the expensive mainline collection circa early 2000s and it showcases many of the cool-girl hallmarks that made the label one of the best selling brands of the 1990s. Tailored from a crisp silk-mix cloth that holds its shape, it is ruched the full length of its mid-calf cut. This results in a sculptural 3D effect across the body, collar and along the sleeves that recalls that of Japanese designers. The coat has a button-up front with dark brown-black faux tortoiseshell buttons. It is lined in smooth black satin throughout. It has two slanted pockets at the hips.

Donna Karan clothing is fabulous quality from this period and the coat is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note - it looks barely worn. The fabric is 60% Silk, 33% Nylon, 7% Elastane. It is labeled size US 2, UK 6, but sizes can vary between brands, so please check the measurements below as it will go up a size in our opinion. The fabric has no stretch.
