Description

Chanel Spring 2001 jacket designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Woven from a soft aubergine-purple wool-silk mix, it is patterned with subtle violet stripes. Tailored to a boxy, single-breasted shape, the jacket has an elegant, wide open-collar with notched lapels which reveals the collarbones. The front of the jacket is secured with glossy black buttons embossed with sun-ray patterns surrounding the brand’s instantly recognisable double-C logo. Straps tailored from coordinating fabric adorn the front and back of the jacket, criss-crossed by another strip which serves as a belt. This fabric belt fastens at the centre front with a snap closure under a logo button. The jacket is fully lined in stunning aubergine silk patterned with tonal camellia flowers - a signature of the house.

This Chanel jacket is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. It is labelled a French size 42 and composed of 67% Wool, 33% Silk with a lining of 95% Silk, 5% Elastane. The fabric has no stretch. It runs a touch small so better suited to a UK 12 or US 8.
