2009 Yves Saint Laurent White Silk Long Harem Pants

These long harem pants were created as part of Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring 2009 collection. Designed under creative director Stefano Pilati, they are tailored from smooth silk in a soft off-white hue. The Vogue review stated that “Pilati can claim authority over the drop-crotch trouser” and held him responsible for this unusual Japanese silhouette entering the mainstream in Western fashion.

The trousers have a wide, thick waistband which fastens at the left side with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye. From this they fall like an A-line skirt to the ankle, where they form two foot holes with a curved “crotch” between them. These trousers are unlined. We have attached the dress from this collection as it is made from the same fabric and of note, Circa also has in its collection the matching silver cage boots in unworn condition. The trousers are in very good to excellent vintage condition - the silk is very lustrous and high quality. We noted a few tiny and very faint markings around the legs that can only be seen with the garment in-hand and on close inspection; they cannot be seen when worn. Labelled a French size 40 which equates to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8 but the waist runs smaller and these are best for around a size UK 10 or US 6 and below. They are labelled 100% Silk and the fabric has no stretch. Please note, they are very long, so do check the measurements below carefully.
