2012 Yves Saint Laurent Runway Black Purple Boho Skirt Ensemble

This ensemble was designed by Stefani Pilati for Yves Saint Laurent’s Spring 2012 show where it walked as look 20. Consisting of an A-line, pleated maxi-skirt and billowing, bell-sleeved blouse, it is tailored from a smooth, breezy silk. The silk is printed with abstract, bohemian patterns in pale grey, fuchsia pink, cobalt blue and navy, set against a dark charcoal grey background. The pattern is broken up with “YSL” logos placed in prominent places. Playing to Pilati’s tendency for playing with proportion, the body of the shirt is cut with curved side seams which adds to the cocooning, voluminous silhouette. There is a keyhole cut-out at the back of the neck which fastens with a single button. The skirt is high-waisted and tailored from coordinating cloth. It fastens on the left hip with a hidden gold-toned zip with logo embossed zip-pull. Both the skirt and blouse are unlined.

This rare ensemble is in excellent archival condition and looks to have been hardly worn (if at all) with no issues of any note. Both pieces are 100% Silk and labelled a size French 44, which equates to a UK 14 or US 10. The fabric has no stretch.
