Bill Gibb 1970s Accordion Pleat Wool Skirt
Description
An extremely wearable late 1970s Bill Gibb mainline wool accordion pleat skirt. This piece is in a rich warm tone of ochre adorned with four horizontal bands that form the lower section of the skirt in an array of contrasting colours - orange, lime green, chocolate and purple. This skirt would have been part of a knitwear ensemble and possibly from the Beehive Collection. The designer revisited this design a number of times over his career and we have referenced this in one of our photographs with different fabric swatches.
The skirt features its original zip and hook and eyes on the waistband. In overall exceptional vintage condition with no faults of any note - it is extremely fresh looking. It bears a sizing label for UK10 but these days it would be more appropriate for a modern UK 6-8, US size 2-4.
MEASUREMENTS:
WAIST - 25 in. (63.5 cm)
HIP - 36 in. (91.4 cm)
LENGTH - 33 in. (83.8 cm)
