Description

This alluring very early 1970s silver disco top is by celebrated London boutique Quorum, and designed by Marie France, who designed alongside label founder Alice Pollock. The translucent sparkling silvery blue fabric has subtle elasticity and is gathered below each shoulder both front and reverse, with a sunburst at the centre front to accentuate the bust. The 3/4 length sleeves are fringed with a decorative flounce cuff. The fabric is semi sheer. The top slips easily over the head and is without any fastenings. A gorgeous, highly adaptable piece in excellent vintage condition, would best suit a US size 2, UK 6.

Notes On Designer:
Quorum was one of the great London boutiques of the 1960s, founded by Alice Pollock in 1964 and joined a year later by husband and wife team Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell. The designs by Pollock and Clark were often made from fabrics designed by Birtwell and were extolled for their sensual, bohemian aesthetic. Quorum was notorious for opulent fashion shows, attracting the brightest creative stars of the 60s/70s in London such as the Beatles, and friends such as David Hockney.
