1960s Richard Blauner’s Boutique Red Apple Print Maxi-Dress
Description
This playful and vibrant maxi-dress was made for Richard Blauner’s Boutique in the late 1960s and it is so well made. Tailored to a classic empire silhouette that falls to the ankle, the fabric is stunning, a thick cream cotton intarsia-woven with bright lipstick-red apples. The top is sleeveless with a high, rounded neckline and it is fitted around the bust. The waist is nipped-in and adorned with a coordinating belt, christened with a large flat bow at the front. Below this, the dress is shaped as an empire-line cut with soft pleating under the bust that adds structure to the full skirt. This pretty dress is lined with cream muslin and is secured with a hidden zip along the back.
This dress is in truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and the fabric retains all of its lustre. It has no composition or size label so please check the measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We believe that this dress would best fit a UK size 8-10 or US 4-6 with plenty of room in the hip.
