Description

Made in Firenze, Italy, this patterned dress is by Italian fashion house Bessi. Founded by Italian tailor Averardo Bessi in 1950, the house became known for its playfully printed fabrics, much akin to Pucci with whom his designs are often associated. In coordinating soft shades of brown, it depicts geometric shapes, botanical forms and playful abstract patterns. The brand name is scattered throughout the print. The swinging, flippy skirt is beautifully gathered at the waistline flares out to finish high on the ankle. The neckline has a soft curve with a rounded yoke collar. The long, slim sleeves, neckline and bottom hem are finished with a thick, patterned cloth that complements the print of the body. The back closes with a hidden zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The top is unlined but the skirt is lined with white satin and trimmed with a strip of patterned cloth at the hem.

This dress is outstandingly well crafted in the finest Italian fabrics and is in truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws. It is 100% Silk and a labelled a vintage size 10. We believe it is better suited to a US 6 or UK 10 on which the measurements correspond below. It does not have a stretch finish.
