1940s Feather Print Rayon Wrap Dress
Description
Original cold rayon novelty feather print wrap dress dating to the 1940s. It is in really vibrant colours of orange, yellow and blue against a black background and is a combination of bold block colour feathers and a pixilated more abstract design. No labels are present and this looks to be dressmaker made in the USA. It has a shallow V neck, wonderful bat wing sleeves with a crossover bust and a tie waist. It is one of the earliest wrap dresses we have ever seen. It has a gently gathered waistline with a tie attached to the front outer waist seam. An internal tie passes through a belt hole on the other side of the dress and transfers to the outer dress to meet up with the other tie on the left side of the waistband; the belt can be partially seen from the back. It is such a modern looking dress and it is quite remarkable that it is approaching 80 years old. There are no issues of any note. It really is in great condition and best suited to up to a UK size 10, US 6. We have also put the dress on a UK size 8 mannequin.
