1950s Ben Reig Black Silk Ribbon Dress

This beautiful early 1950s black silk dress is likely to be by Omar Kiam for designer Ben Reig, a brand renowned during this era for its, simple, elegant lines and luxurious quality of fabrics. The silk fabric is textured with vertical applique ribbon detail throughout and features cap sleeves with cute lace up and bow detail and a full calf-length skirt which flares out playfully from the waist. Inside there is a thick net petticoat for additional volume with a concealed zipper fastening to the side. In pristine vintage condition this lovely piece appears unworn. Would best suit a US size 10, UK 14.
