1950s Black Chantilly Lace Peplum Cocktail Dress

This enchanting 1950s black Chantilly lace cocktail dress is unlabelled and we believe it to be American in origin. It is a silk cotton blend with a Chantilly lace overlay and features a pleated satin sash waistband with a diamanté pin brooch affixed to the left. It has half-length sleeves, falls at the knee and boasts a plunging neckline at the reverse to reveal the upper back and shoulders. The lace overlay finishes at the mid thigh to create a peplum effect and a little extra volume. There is a central zip fastening at the reverse and the bodice is fully lined in black. Perfect for parties, this fabulous piece would fit up to US size 8, UK 12.
