1960s Black Linen Hand Painted Butterfly Print Dress

A superb 1960s black linen shift dress with hand-painted butterfly motifs in green, orange, red & yellow. The hand-painted butterflies comprise of 3 large butterfly outlines to the front; 1 that broaches the side and 2 smaller butterfly motifs to the rear. They are very cleverly executed being very simple in terms of the painting but accurately showcasing stylised butterflies! The dress has a rolled high-neck collar that leads down in a flattering A-Line to the hem which falls just below the knee. The dress is unlined and closes to the rear with its original zip and single hook & eye at the neck. Size wise, this would fit up to a UK 10 or US 6 and could be worn as is for a summer event or with a polo neck underneath for colder weather. Unlabelled but of good, American manufactured quality.
