Description

This summery mid to late 1960s two-piece was designed by Parisian couturiers Brunot Soeurs. The sisters designed elegant formal and evening wear for their wealthy patrons and in their heyday had ateliers in both Paris and Cannes in the late 1950s through to the early 1970s.

Tailored from vibrantly patterned floral silk, the set is printed with blown-up painterly aqua florals contrasted against a purple background. The dress is cut to a shift-style. It is sleeveless and falls in a column shape to the knee. It has a curved bertha collar and is further detailed with pleats at the bottom crowned with piping and a bow in coordinating fabric. The dress is lined in aqua satin. It fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The jacket has a relaxed fit and a collarless neckline, which reveals the collar of the dress underneath. It fastens at the front with three fabric ties and is also lined in aqua satin.

Both pieces are in truly excellent vintage condition and look barely worn - if at all. There are no composition or size labels so please check the below measurements as the fabric has no stretch. We think this suit is best for sizes up to a UK 10 or US 6.
