1960s Gunne Sax Black Label Cream and Patchwork Dress

This Gunne Sax midi-dress is from the brand’s highly collectable black label era. The label reads “Gunne Sax by Jessica”. This branding was used from 1969 into the early 1970s, marking the piece as an early design by the company which was founded in 1967. Incorporating many of the label’s signature prairie references, this cotton-mix dress features crochet trim, a lace-up bust and colourful patchwork-print fabric across the chest, down the front of the skirt and along each sleeve. Two carved brown beads are suspended from the cord which ties the front. Gently curved cuffs and voluminous puff-shoulders add pretty detailing. This dress fastens at the back with a hidden, tonal zip and is fully lined. This iconic, sought-after piece is in excellent vintage condition with no issues and just waiting for a 1960s’ fashion fan or Gunne Sax collector to snap it up. Best suited to UK sizes 10-12 or US 6-8. Our model is a UK size 8-10 and 5ft 11in / 180 cm, this dress was a little tight across the shoulders but otherwise fit her well.
