1960s Navy and White Houndstooth Check Woollen Trapeze Dress
Description
This is a classic example of 1960s Mod fashion in a very desirable trapeze shape. The dog tooth cheque pattern is in a French blue and white colour combination with the central full length button stand featuring unusual blue bowl shaped buttons. The dress is made up of a series of panels that flare outwards from the shoulder. A tie belt is attached and fastens from each side to the rear to cinch the waist as required. This belt detail could equally be tied to the front. It is labelled "MH Fine Co". It has the stamp "imperfect" or what nowadays would be "seconds" although we have looked very carefully over this dress and find absolutely no fault with it whatsoever. It is in wonderful vintage condition so we assume this was a quality seconds piece. It is a medium weight wool and due to the versatility of the shape it will fit a range of sizes. The shoulder fit means we think it would best suit up to around a UK 10, US 6 or smaller. Our model wears UK 8-10.
