1960s Sequinned Couture Made Brown Dress
Description
This late 1960s couture brown silk maxi dress is beautifully made; we love the frothy sheer bell-sleeves and full, swirling skirt. The neckline is cut to a V-shape and the bodice is heavily embellished with hand-sewn detailing. Sequins smother the front and back of the top section, iridescent pinkish-brown, bronze and umber hues forming a psychedelic circle print. The cuffs are detailed with the same sequin embellishment and fasten with three hidden snap closures. The skirt is full and tailored from the same sheer silk-chiffon as the sleeves. It is lined with a bronze satin. There is a removeable chiffon belt that is tube-shaped. Formed from sheer brown silk and lined with bronze satin, it is finished with tassels threaded with tiny bronze beads and larger faux-amber beads. The dress fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp.
In excellent vintage condition. There is no size or composition label, so please check our measurements below. The fabric has no stretch. We believe it would best fit a size UK 10 or US 6.
