Description

This 1970s Ossie Clark for Radley maxi dress is in an unusual rich tan or caramel colour. After the designer’s mainline boutique faced financial difficulties, the company was purchased by Radley in 1967. Radley distributed the brand around the world through the introduction of the Ossie Clark for Radley line which was one of fashion's very first diffusion lines.

The dress is tailored from moss crepe, a crinkly, tactile crepe with a moss-like texture known for its flexibility when draped. It was a signature cloth of the label. The top is cut to a button-down style, finished with fabric-covered buttons with chunky fabric loops. It has a wide-spread 'dog ear' collar and dramatic, voluminous bell-sleeves which are finished at the cuffs with three buttons. The waist can be cinched by the coordinating ties on each side of the waist. The skirt is full and flows to a floor-sweeping length. This dress is unlined.

We have sold dozens of Ossies at Circa over the years and have not had this colourway in before. In truely excellent vintage condition without any issues and does not appear to have been altered. We have laundered so it is ready to wear. It has no size label, so please check the below measurements carefully. The fabric is labelled “moss crepe” which is 100% Polyester. It has the smallest amount of stretch and should fit sizes up to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8 with a smaller bust.
