1980s Priscilla of Boston Lace Wedding Dress with Jacket
Description
This late 1970s to early 1980s wedding dress ensemble was created by Priscilla of Boston, a high-end wedding dress company founded by Priscilla Eastman Comins. Priscilla of Boston designed gowns for the weddings of Grace Kelly, Julie and Tricia Nixon and Barbara Eisenhower. Tailored from a delicate cream lace, the dress has narrow spaghetti straps and a column silhouette. The neckline has a pretty scallop hem and the waist is cinched with a wide cream satin belt. It fastens under the left arm with a hidden tonal zip and the belt is closed with a hidden snap closure. The dress is carefully lined at the top in cotton and with a cream satin petticoat which is trimmed with lace at the bottom hem.
The coordinating lace jacket has a scallop-hem and a raw, frayed bottom hem. The sleeves have a puff-silhouette with an elasticated cuff and are adorned with delicate fabric flowers at the elbow. The jacket is unlined and is sheer, fastening at the top of the neck with a hook and eye.
Both pieces in excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. There are no size or composition labels and the fabric has no stretch - please check our measurements below for fit. On account of the small waist, the ensemble is best suited to a UK 8 or US 4.
