1980s Yves Saint Laurent Purple Wool Boyfriend Jacket

This late 1980s to early 1990s Yves Saint Laurent jacket is a great example of the relaxed 'boyfriend' cut that presided over fashion during this adjoining era. The fabric’s striking colour is a deep purple/blue lilac and although the composition label is no longer in the jacket, we believe this to be a mohair wool/nylon blend. The jacket has a rounded lapel collar that leads down to a central button stand with three leather platted buttons. There are two deep front facing pockets and the signature black trim is the archetypal woven cord used often by Yves Saint Laurent for jackets and skirts since the 1970s. The trim is present around the collar, the full length of the jacket opening and the folded over cuffs of the tapered sleeves. The jacket has a very square cut and is beautifully panelled to give it that boxy oversized look. It is lined in beautiful quality black sateen fabric. In really excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note and will fit all sizes up to a UK 14, US 10.
