1989 Thierry Mugler Runway Documented Tangerine Orange Jacket
Description
Designed as part of Thierry Mugler’s iconic Fall 1989 collection, this tangerine jacket was seen in the campaign for this season on supermodel Naomi Campbell in yellow and set against the New York city scape. Signature architectural detailing abounds in the construction of this cocktail jacket with its curved lapels and wide, padded waistband that forms a wave around the body. The waistband gives way to a wide belt that fastens with a large tonal buckle to the right hand side. At the shoulder an applique detail in coordinating fabric echoes the curves and forms a tiny slip pocket. The collar sits high at the back of the neck. The jacket is lined with tonal orange satin and fastens with a hidden zip. The pale blue label reads “Thierry Mugler Paris”.
