1990s Christian Dior Oatmeal Linen Double Breasted Jacket

Christian Dior Boutique oatmeal silk blazer jacket. This is a really good example of the double-breasted sports jackets that were fashionable in the late 1980s and early 1990s and it's a timeless style. It is made from the finest quality heavy-weight raw silk that is almost tweed or sack-like in its appearance but has this wonderful soft tactile feel. In bright sunlight the silk looks like it has been dusted with gold and silver due to the refractive qualities of the silk. It fastens with a double row of oatmeal coloured buttons and has three patch pockets - two hip pockets and a handkerchief pocket. The sleeves can be turned up if desired as they have a V slit opening. The jacket is not lined but it does have beautifully made and shaped shoulder pads.

Labelled Christian Dior Boutique and Made in France, this was reserved for the flagship salon in Paris and would have been made in the same atelier as the haute couture collections. It is also has a small label advising 100% silk that is attached on the inside seam. In really good vintage condition, gently worn with no issues. A best fit for up to a UK 12 or US 8.
