Description

This 1990s beaded slip dress was designed by iconic British brand Katharine Hamnett. The designer, Katharine E. Hamnett, founded her namesake label in 1979 and was a founding design member of the British Fashion Council when it began in 1984. This charismatic floor-length gown is smothered in zig-zagging black bugle beads which catch the light as the wearer moves. Triple rows of these beads trim the hems and travel up over the spaghetti straps. It is tailored to a cami-top shape with a curve-skimming silhouette and has a rounded neckline which is mirrored at the rear. It fastens at the back with a tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. Lined with a very fine sheer black silk chiffon.

The dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues or flaws to the beadwork. Please double-check our measurements below; we estimate this would be a good fit for up to a UK 8-10 or US 4-6. It would also suit sizes smaller due to the fluid slip-dress cut. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34" (87cm), Waist: 24" (61cm), Hips: 34.5" (88cm), Height: 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6, US 2.
