This vintage early 1990s Kenneth Jay Lane necklace features a repeat of bead clusters on a long gold coloured chain, finished with a sturdy clasp and the 'Kenneth Lane' cartouche. Each cluster is made up of two imitation pearls, each flanking a gold cutout orb with a black stone on the inside, complete with diamanté detail. The pearls vary in shape from almost cone like to spherical, which creates a more natural effect to the necklace, and adds a very distinct, Chanel-esque flair to the overall piece. Indeed, Kenneth Jay Lane, who began designing jewellery in 1963, was famously compared to Coco Chanel on a number of occasions for his popularisation of high quality costume jewellery.
