Description

This oh-so-’90s mac was designed by French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent to sit alongside their spring 1992 collection. It was made for the brand’s Variation diffusion line; a youthful, slightly cheaper but still high quality range that the brand launched back in the 1980s. It was fazed out before Tom Ford's arrival.

Tailored from black satin made from polyurethane and cotton with a glossy sheen, it has a double-breasted silhouette and is tailored to a baggy, relaxed fit. The buttons are large, bronze-hued and cut from a sheer plastic. The cuffs are designed to be turned-up. There is a chunky point collar and in-seam pockets at the hips. The back has a vent and it is lined throughout in an inky black crepe.

Highly wearable and in excellent vintage condition with no issues. Made in France, it is labelled a size 42, UK 14 or US 10 but will work for sizes smaller too. We have referenced similar YSL designs from the same time period worn by the supermodel duo Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington to show you just how good these jackets look belted. Although this design does not have a belt, you could add your own to replicate the look. The outer fabric is 90% Polyurethane, 10% Cotton and the lining is 55% Acetate, 45% Cupro. The fabric has no stretch.
