2003 Runway Issey Miyake Black Puffer Jacket with Ruched Design

Made in Japan, this runway documented puffer jacket is by Naoki Takizawa for the Issey Miyake Fall/Winter 2003 collection. Tailored from smooth black polyester with a fluffy cupro lining, it is detailed with the avant-garde forms we have come to expect from the maverick, art-lead designer. A hooded jacket with long, slim sleeves and a body which follows the curves of the female form, it has a tonal black zip-up front and a drawstring with toggles through the adjustable hood. The panelled construction is broken up by ruched circles which form rosette-like shapes across the body and sleeves. Ever the master of fabric manipulation and folding, Miyake's placement of these circles around the waist creates a stunning peplum waist with a dramatic flare and scallop hem that continues all the way around the back. The jacket has two horizontal zip pockets at the chest with hidden tonal black zips. It is lined throughout with black satin for a comfortable, luxurious wear.

This jacket is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws. It is 100% Polyester with a lining of 100% Cupro. The fabric has no stretch. It is labelled a size 3, which represents the in-house sizing of the brand. We believe it would best fit up to a size UK 10-12, US 6-8.
