2010s Balmain Military Jacket with Metal Braid Epaulettes and Cuffs

$962.00

Description

This weighty, embellished jacket was designed by Balmain during creative director Olivier Rousteing’s 14 year reign at the fashion house. Olivier’s “Balmain Army” was made up of a group of highly influential global icons who would wear his opulently embellished, bold silhouettes often imbued with pop culture and military influences. This jacket showcases many hallmarks of his time at the fashion house. Tailored from a thick black cotton-mix with a ribbed handle, it offers Balmain’s take on the hugely popular 2010s trend for military jackets - a trend that is returning in the 2020s. It has a high neckline, and slim-straight cut. There are four patch pockets with flaps that close with decadent gold-toned metal buttons engraved with “B”. The shoulders and cuffs are finished with epaulettes adorned with heavy, thick gold- and silver-toned metal braid.

The jacket is lined with a thick black crepe. The jacket is in excellent condition and looks barely worn. It is labelled a French 36, UK 8 or US 4 but sizes vary across brands so please double check our measurements below. The composition label reads 77% Lyocell, 20% Cotton, 3% Elastane with a lining of 97% Viscose, 3% Elastane.
