2015 Versace Documented Gold Beaded Silk Gown with High Slit
Description
This mesmerising gown was designed by Donatella Versace in 2015. Supermodel Irina Shayk wore this dress to the premiere of Sicario at Cannes the same year. Incredibly detailed and glamorous in the way that only Versace can, it is tailored from peachy-gold silk-satin and smothered in gold studs and glass beadwork. The high-octane embellishment forms winding, snake-like shapes that wrap around the body and slither up over the four shoulder straps, also smothered in glittering gold studs and beads. The gown is cut to shape the bust and hug the curves of the body before giving way to a theatrical train in the skirt - a classic mermaid cut given a contemporary update with the addition of a high, above-knee slit. Inside the gown is a boned corset crafted from beige mesh and grosgrain. The dress is lined in matte beige silk-crepe. Both the internal corset and the outer dress fasten at the back with tonal zips with Versace-branded zip-pulls. The straps fasten together at the back with two hidden hook-and-eyes.
This gown is in excellent condition, likely worn just once and with no issues of any note. It is labelled an Italian size 44 but runs small and we think it better suited for a UK 8-10 or US 4-6. We cannot see any evidence of alterations. It is 100% Silk with a lining of 100% Silk. The internal corset is 100% Polyester. The fabric has no stretch.
