Fall 1986 Jean Paul Gaultier PVC Sweatshirt With Arrow Design
Description
This black PVC leather-look sweatshirt was designed as part of Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic “Russian Constructivist” Fall 1986 collection. The collection was influenced by the political and social climate of the Soviet Union. The front of this top is embellished with a striking downwards facing arrow, stitched into the fabric to create an embossed quality reminiscent of biker style leatherwear. The only way to put this piece over your head is to loosen the the zip running the length of the left arm. This sweater is cut to a curve on either side of the waist, with raglan shoulders giving a casual feel to the garment. Small details such as the punch-hole reinforced ventilation holes beneath the arms and arrow-shaped zip pulls remind us of the care and remarkable attention to detail for which Gaultier is known.
This piece is in excellent condition with no issues . There is no composition or sizing label present but the sizing suggests a mens medium. Gaultier was one of the first designers to mix unisex items on the runway, this piece is suitable for both sexes. The fabric has no stretch.
